Honey Orange Sticky Glazed Ham

Looking to make the perfect glaze for your Christmas ham? This super sticky and delicious Honey Orange sauce is the ultimate crowd-pleaser. And the best part? You’ll have leftovers for days to come.

Serves 10-12 
 

Ingredients:

  • Woolworths Half Leg Ham (approx 4kg) 
  • 1 packet of whole cloves 
  • 1 cup of honey 
  • 1 tbsp orange rind
  • Juice of one orange 
  • 2 tsp grated fresh ginger 
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ cup brown sugar 
  • 2 tbsp mixed spices 
  • Thyme or rosemary for decoration (optional) 


Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius 
  2. Cut through the rind on each side then down the handle, run your knife along the rim and peel back slowly on both sides. 
  3. Use a small knife to score 2.5cm diamond shapes and place a clove in each to penetrate with flavour
  4. Wrap the rind handle in foil so it doesn’t burn
  5. Make the glaze with honey, orange rind, juice, grated ginger, cinnamon stick, mixed spices and brown sugar. 
  6. Baste the ham with the glaze and bake for 20 minutes. Remove and repeat while basting 3 times.
  7. Let rest for 20 minutes before carving and enjoy!
